“Nova Scotian Distilled” - Certification program

In the fall of 2023, the Craft Distillers Association of Nova Scotia was pleased to announce the launch of its
“Nova Scotian Distilled” certification program. This new endeavour aims to promote and support local distillers by ensuring that 100% of each bottle of certified spirits has been distilled entirely within Nova Scotia, by the original owner/producer, using their own equipment and techniques, with a limited scale of production.

 Distillers who are displaying this medallion on their products are full members of CDANS who have applied to use the certification and have demonstrated that they meet the required criteria.

Consumers can easily identify certified products by looking for the “Nova Scotian Distilled” certification medallion
as illustrated above. These medallions will be prominently displayed on the bottles of certified spirits.

This certification program was designed to support and promote the small batch, artisanal spirits industry in Nova Scotia, providing consumers with better knowledge about the quality, origin and creation of their spirits. These certified products are available at the originating member distilleries, NSLC stores and select retail outlets.
